GRS Recruitment are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join a dynamic Accounts & Finance team for a growing brand base in Limassol. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, driving strong accounting controls, and contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes. You will take ownership of a broad range of day-to-day accounting activities, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, management accounts, statutory reporting, and financial controls, while working closely with senior members of the Finance team.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage, review, and post purchase invoices, expense invoices, and financial transactions, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and complete supporting documentation.
  • Perform and review bank, cash, supplier, and customer reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Monitor accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) balances, follow up on outstanding items, and resolve reconciling differences.
  • Review and process supplier payments, bank transactions, and other financial transactions in line with established procedures and internal controls.
  • Accurately record and review incoming payments, receipts, and cash transactions.
  • Support the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, financial reports, and supporting financial information.
  • Take ownership of assigned month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, journals, adjustments, and closing entries.
  • Prepare and review accounting schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation for financial reporting.
  • Assist with VAT, VIES, Intrastat, and other applicable tax and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure accounting transactions comply with accounting standards, internal accounting policies, financial controls, and statutory requirements.
  • Identify and investigate accounting discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing reconciliations, financial schedules, reports, and audit documentation.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date accounting records, ledgers, schedules, and financial documentation.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members, including reviewing work and sharing accounting knowledge.
  • Contribute to the improvement, automation, and standardization of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Work closely with colleagues across departments to resolve financial queries and ensure smooth and efficient accounting operations.
  • Perform additional accounting and finance responsibilities as required by the Finance Manager/Supervisor.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Solid accounting experience, ideally within a structured Finance or Accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of General Accounting Principles and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, customer reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, provisions, journals, and accounting adjustments.
  • Good knowledge of VAT, tax, and statutory accounting requirements.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and financial integrity.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a high-performing Finance team.
  • Fluent in Greek and English.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
  • €18,000 - €26,000 Gross Per Annum
  • Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative; any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability
