GRS Recruitment are working with a world leader in Maritime and Logistics Services to recruit an Accountant for their Limassol office. The successful candidate will report directory to the Senior Accountant along with assisting the Accounting Department with day to day recording of invoices, financial & management reporting and manage accounts payable/accounts receivable function. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Processing of invoices and accounting journals.
  • Opening of new customer/supplier accounts and maintaining existing customer/supplier details.
  • Processing and posting all cash transactions: deposit, withdrawals, payment orders, foreign currency payments.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of weekly cash flows.
  • Responsible for monitoring and collection of accounts receivables and communication with customers. Monitoring credit limits and bank guarantees.
  • Communication with suppliers for queries in relation to credit policy.
  • Bank/customer/supplier reconciliations.
  • Prepare the payments and ensure that bank signatories approve and release payments timely ensuring that cut-off times are met.
  • Liaison with company’s bankers and auditors.
  • Assist in the preparation of the company’s budget and financial forecasting.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with preparation of VAT returns.
  • Execution of any task requested by Management or Supervisors of the Company.
  • Contribute to the continuous business improvement of processes and finance systems and to Company’s objectives.
  • To be an ambassador for the company at all times internally and externally.
  • Comply with Fatal Risk Standards, Health & Safety Policy and safe working practices, ensure responsibility for safety and discipline in work area and report accidents and ‘near misses’ in accordance with defined safety procedures.
  • Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the above.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent.
  • Studying towards ACCA or relevant professional qualification (partly qualified).
  • Have experience of over 3 years in an accounting / audit department.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting policies, practices and systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications – MS Excel, MS Word.
  • Previous accounting software implementation experience, preferably Navision or Oracle.
  • Strong customer service ethos with a flexible approach to tasks to support the needs of the business.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage fluctuations in workload and meet deadlines.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in Greek and English.
  • Highly developed communication skills to articulate and communicate within the business and externally.
  • Builds and maintains effective customer relations.
  • Takes personal responsibility for delivering results.
  • Communicates effectively with others to get the job done.
  • Attention to detail.
