On behalf of our client, an established international trading company, we are seeking an Accounting & Finance Specialist to join their team in Limassol. The organisation operates within the commodities trading sector, specialising in petrochemicals and related products, and has built a strong reputation alongside long-standing relationships with leading international banks.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounting & Finance professional to join a dynamic and commercially driven environment. The successful candidate will play a key role across financial operations, reporting, banking, and compliance, supporting both day-to-day accounting activities and broader business functions.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using ERP systems.
  • Process and execute incoming and outgoing payments
  • Perform reconciliations including bank, debtor, and creditor accounts
  • Support VAT, VIES, provisional tax, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare management accounts and financial statements, supporting audit processes
  • Monitor receivables and payables, ensuring timely collections and payments
  • Oversee cash flow movements and highlight funding requirements or discrepancies
  • Manage banking relationships, including Letters of Credit (LCs) and documentary collections
  • Ensure compliance with AML, KYC, and sanctions requirements across transactions
  • Conduct credit checks and manage relationships with credit insurance providers
  • Coordinate corporate documentation with banks, authorities, and legal advisors
  • Support payroll processes and maintain accurate employee records
  • Assist with administrative and operational finance-related tasks as required
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • ACCA student: full qualification considered an advantage
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting/finance role
  • Experience within trading, shipping, or commodities environments is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, taxation, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with banking platforms, payment processes, and trade finance instruments
  • Understanding of AML, KYC, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems will be considered an advantage
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Fluency in English is essential; Greek is an advantage
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and multitasking skills
