An experienced accounting assistant is needed immediately to support a public organisation in the heart of Nicosia. Due to the nature of the work being carried out, the hours of work are 07:45-15:15 Monday to Friday. You will be working under the municipal treasurer and will be expected conduct the daily duties of supporting the Accounting Department within a large government administration.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIS
  • Assist Accountants and other financial professionals with creating and editing financial documents.
  • Organise the bookkeeping processes of the company.
  • Evaluate financial budgets and track expenses.
  • Draft and report financial presentations.
  • Reconcile financial books including incoming and outgoing funds.
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Create and update expense reports
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Enter financial transactions into internal database
  • Maintain digital/physical financial records
  • Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed
  • Review and file payroll documents
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Must be a native/fluent Greek Speaker with working knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with finance regulations
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel
  • Previous Government experience will be preferred
  • Organisation skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information as per GDPR.
