A leading accounting and corporate service firm is looking for an Accounts Associate to join their team in southern Malta. Your role will entail a wide variety of accounting duties, including VAT returns and payroll. The ideal candidate will be in process of ACCA and have experience within Accounting in Malta.   • Postings in the sales and purchase ledger
  • Posting of receipts and payments, bank and other reconciliations
  • Generation and compilation of VAT returns and recapitulative statements
  • Payroll preparation and submission monthly
  • Preparation of accounts to be passed for audit
  • Management accounts
  • General assistance to the accounts and payroll departments
  • Ensure that onboarding due diligence was carried out and that the engagement letter is in place.
  • Ensure all deadlines by clients are met on time
  • Communicate to management any defaulting clients
  • Organizing clients’ documents when these arrive at office and returning back the documents to the client in an organized manner
  • Adhere to internal procedures for documents register to ensure no documents are misplaced
  • Debtors chasing and collection of funds, for clients allocated to the employee
  • Adhere to internal procedures whereby no VAT return is submitted prior to receiving payment for our fees
  • Ongoing updates in due diligence software should be affected, particularly in relation to any suspicious transactions noted during the conduct of the work. These suspicious transactions should be also communicated immediately with MLRO and Managing Partner.
  • ACCA qualified or in the process
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
