An integrated maritime solutions leader, with a strong heritage in the shipping industry, are working with GRS to recruit an Accounts Officer for their Limassol office. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting. As part of the accounting team, you will implement all accounting processes, procedures and standards and monitor the accurate execution of financial agreements with clients/suppliers. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure timely and accurate bookkeeping and financial/statistical reporting according to the requirements of the assigned office and the local regulations, to ensure compliance of the office with legislation.
  • Issue invoices/credit notes based on the quotation given and the agreed pricing policy and ensure the timely and accurate provision of financial and other accounting reports to the clients. Follow up on receipts of refunds from Airlines and updates pending refund lists.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, BSP reports, and suppliers' statements with respective ledger accounts/accounting records.
  • Develop and/or participates (upon request if needed) in the development of the Network’s consolidated budget, and/or the assigned office's budget as well as its periodical revisions, oversee its accurate execution, identify cost-saving opportunities, and takes corrective actions in case of deviations in order to ensure compliance with pre-set targets.
  • Support the Manager and Network Director in applying the Network’s short and long-term business strategy, vision, policies, and objectives.
  • Identify and report operational problems to the line manager with a proposal for your solution wherever it is feasible.
  • Develop and maintain long-lasting, profitable relationships with key customers/suppliers, in order to support and promote business objectives and ensure Network’s / assigned office's operations status in the market. Assist in identifying potential business opportunities.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department and implements all necessary improvements to ensure smooth workflow in compliance with policies and procedures.
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Any other professional accounting qualification would be considered an advantage.
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in an accounting department.
  • Knowledge of the accounting processes and procedures.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Fluency in English.
