Our esteemed client, a forward-thinking wealth management company based in Limassol, is seeking for an experienced CEO / Managing Director to lead their Energy Trading and Solar PV Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Projects. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES
  • Develop and implement the company’s strategy for solar electricity trading and energy market operations in Cyprus.
  • Lead negotiations and manage contracts with energy suppliers, traders, and regulatory bodies (e.g.CERA, EAC, TSO Cyprus).
  • Oversee planning, development, and operation of photovoltaic (PV) parks.
  • Monitor electricity prices, market dynamics, and regulatory developments.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and EU energy regulations.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams: engineers, legal advisors, and energy analysts.
  • Own P&L responsibility, lead budgeting and financial reporting across projects.
  • Initiate and supervise new investment opportunities in renewable energy (including BESS, smartgrids, etc.).
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Energy, or Economics (or related field).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the energy sector, with a strong focus on solar PV.
  • Experience in leading a team of 5-10 people in this field.
  • Proven track record in launching and operating solar power plants in Cyprus or the EU.
  • Solid understanding of Cyprus and EU legislation in the energy and renewables sector.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and operational management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; fluency in English is required (Greek is a strong advantage).
  • Experience working with CERA, EAC, and the Cyprus TSO.
  • Knowledge of power balancing, Net Metering, PPAs, CfDs, and IPP licensing.
  • Background in financing and executing EPC / O&M renewable energy projects.
