GRS Recruitment is working with a well-established group of companies that is establishing an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) in the heart of Limassol, Cyprus. As the business prepares to launch and expand its EU-regulated operations, the organisation is seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the Cyprus-based entity through its next phase of growth and development. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be responsible for providing strategic and executive leadership across all aspects of the business, ensuring the successful delivery of the Company's commercial, operational, financial, and regulatory objectives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing a robust governance framework, embedding a strong risk and compliance culture, and building a scalable business that meets the expectations of regulators, customers, and shareholders. This is a unique opportunity for a commercially astute and entrepreneurial executive with significant experience within regulated financial services, electronic money institutions, fintech, or banking. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic leadership and overall executive management of the Company, ensuring the successful delivery of its business plan and long-term growth strategy.
- Establish and maintain an effective corporate governance framework in line with regulatory expectations and Board oversight.
- Lead the development of the Company's organisational structure, operating model, and control environment to support sustainable business growth.
- Build, lead, mentor, and retain a high-performing executive and management team across compliance, risk, finance, operations, technology, commercial, and customer functions.
- Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, customer focus, and regulatory excellence throughout the organisation.
- Ensure the Company maintains full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including safeguarding obligations, AML/CTF requirements, conduct standards, and broader prudential expectations.
- Maintain strong and constructive relationships with regulatory authorities, banking partners, auditors, shareholders, and other key external stakeholders.
- Oversee the Company's financial performance, budgeting, capital planning, liquidity management, and safeguarding arrangements, ensuring long-term financial resilience.
- Drive commercial growth through strategic partnerships, product development, market expansion, and customer acquisition initiatives.
- Ensure effective oversight of operational resilience, risk management, technology, and business continuity frameworks.
- Lead the implementation of policies, procedures, and internal controls that support a scalable and well-governed regulated financial institution.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide regular reporting on business performance, strategic initiatives, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
- Represent the Company externally with regulators, industry bodies, financial institutions, investors, and strategic partners, acting as an ambassador for the business.
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence while ensuring the organisation remains agile in a changing regulatory and commercial environment.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Proven experience as a Director or similar leadership role within the payment solutions industry.
- Strong understanding of payment technology and industry trends.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to drive business growth and manage operational challenges.
- Relevant qualifications and experience in finance, management, or related fields preferred.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- €100,000 - €120,000 Gross Per Annum.
- Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
