GRS Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading organisation operating within the marine and energy services sector, headquartered in Limassol. Our client is currently seeking to recruit an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to join their established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 4–5 years’ experience to take the next step in their career within a structured and growing finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance and process improvements while working closely with senior management and supporting a team of accounting professionals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.

Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination and tax compliance activities.

Supervise and support members of the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of accounting processes.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies and reporting requirements.

Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance financial procedures.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, including monitoring financial performance and reporting variances.

Coordinate internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requirements.

Oversee tax compliance activities and ensure timely submission of required filings.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of accounting procedures.

Support ERP/accounting system improvements and provide financial reporting and insights to management.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

ACCA/ACA qualified or actively progressing towards qualification will be considered an advantage.

4–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles.

Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.

Experience supervising or mentoring accounting team members.

Good understanding of accounting operations, including reconciliations, audit processes and tax compliance.

Experience working with ERP/accounting systems will be considered an advantage.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

€36,000 - €45,000 Gross Per Annum

Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative; any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
