We are excited to partner with a dynamic IT company based in Malta, currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to contribute to a growing organisation. The CFO will lead the Group’s global finance and business operations functions. This is a hands-on, high-impact role reporting directly to the CEO. The CFO will be responsible for building the financial and operational infrastructure, ensuring corporate substance in Malta, managing intricate international tax structures, and driving the commercial and legal execution of the Group's business models.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Strategy & Capital Management

Develop and maintain the Group's financial strategy to support high international growth plans.

Lead budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and continuous monitoring of financial/operational KPIs.

Optimize banking relationships and global multi-currency cash-flow management.

Evaluate, select, and implement a robust IT / financial reporting system to support automated group reporting in a timely, accurate, and accessible way across all global entities.
International Tax, IP & Corporate Governance

Manage the Group’s accounting, financial reporting, audits, and international regulatory compliance.

Maintain and reinforce the Group’s business substance in Malta

Oversee the group's global intercompany structure, including transfer pricing arrangements, IP management, and intercompany agreements.
Commercial Execution & Business Modeling

Design, structure, and approve advanced commercial models aligned with industry standards (e.g., specialized licensing, complex project milestones, and cash flow models).

Support commercial contract negotiations with enterprise clients and government entities (B2G).

Ensure proper commercial execution of customer contracts, including compliance with contract terms, invoicing, milestone tracking and collections.
Operations, Infrastructure & Risk Management

Lead the Group's operational activities, ensuring that key business processes are executed effectively and in line with management objectives.

Build, implement, and continuously improve financial/operational workflows, internal procedures, systems, and management tools from the ground up.

Centralize the Group’s legal affairs and coordinate with internal and international counsel.

Manage the Group's corporate insurance portfolio.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification – Mandatory.

Executive Experience: At least 10 years of executive experience in finance and business operations, including a proven track record as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in a fast-growing technology company.

Industry Background: Direct experience in the Cyber Security / Cyber Intelligence sector is highly preferred.
Alternatively, candidates must come from industries with highly comparable business models and complex B2G/Enterprise structures, such as Defense Tech, HLS, FinTech, RegTech, or Enterprise SaaS.

International Expertise: Proven experience leading the finance function of an international group, including multi-company operations, transfer pricing, and global taxation.

Leadership Style: A hands-on, execution-oriented leader with strong organizational, analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Experienced in working closely with executive management and Boards of Directors to support strategic decision-making.

Languages: Native or professionally fluent English (written and spoken) – Mandatory.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

€80,000 – €120,000 Gross Per Annum
