A long-established marine insurance broker based in Limassol are working with GRS to recruit a Claims Executive. The successful candidate must be educated to a University degree level, preferably in shipping. As a Claims Executive you will be responsible for providing claims handling services and advice. Our client is looking for an ambitious individual with a high level of organisational skills and able to work collectively as a part of a team but also on their own initiative.  If you feel you have the necessary skills and industry experience, then GRS look forward to receiving your CV for this Limassol Claims Executive opportunity.
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handle assigned claims in accordance with company procedures, provide advice on claims related issues and identify the need for loss prevention activity.
  • Closely liaise with Clients, Underwriters, Surveyors, Local Correspondents, Average Adjusters and Lawyers during handling claims on Client’s behalf.
  • Promote the relationship between the company and existing Clients for which the claims team is responsible.
  • Provide cover in absence of Claims Manager
  • Ensure that all electronic correspondence and documentation, whether received or sent, relating to claims files is promptly and correctly filed in accordance with the agreed working practices and to maintain and keep updated records.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of company procedures and systems.
  • Manage the business relationship with existing Clients and provide claims handling service of the highest standard.
  • Undertake appropriate training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Take on any other responsibilities or tasks that are within the scope of personal skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
  • Be available to handle clients’ issues that may arise outside office hours, in additions to the scheduled-on call duty rota.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Educated to University degree level, ideally from a Shipping background
  • Any experience in FDD/P&I Claims or the Shipping industry is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Proactive and self-starting individual.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • A flexible approach to work and be open to working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Client facing experience is preferable.
