A well-established and expanding professional services firm based in Malta is seeking an experienced Client Accounting Manager to join its Accounting Department. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a qualified accountant looking to manage a team, drive client satisfaction, and contribute to departmental growth within a multi-disciplinary services environment. Our client is a full-service professional services firm serving local and international clients across accounting, corporate, tax, legal, advisory, and payroll. Operating for over 30 years, the firm works with start-ups, SMEs, and established businesses across a broad range of industries. It holds a licensed corporate service provider (CSP) status and is known for its personalised, client-focused approach. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage an accounting team, overseeing workflows, workloads, and deadlines to ensure quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for team members on accounting and VAT matters, reviewing work where appropriate
- Oversee and lead key accounting projects from inception through delivery
- Support the onboarding of new clients into the accounting function
- Monitor team performance and contribute to target-setting and professional development
- Collaborate with wider departments — including audit, payroll, corporate, and funding — identifying cross-departmental opportunities
- Assess and propose improvements to internal systems and processes
- Support the Senior Client Accounting Manager with additional tasks as required
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- ACCA qualified or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience
- Strong command of accounting standards, Maltese VAT, and tax legislation
- Bilingual fluency in English and Maltese (written and spoken); a third language is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines in a client-facing environment
