An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Executive to join a well-established Investment & Trading firm in Malta. The company trades on the Malta stock exchange but also in foreign securities and are looking for a Compliance Executive to provide administrative support to the compliance function including the drafting of internal policies, manuals and procedures, and the maintenance and updating of all compliance registers.  The perfect candidate will have qualification (minimum MQF level 5 equivalent) in financial services compliance or similar and, ideally have experience in a similar role. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct due diligence and screening procedures prior to the onboarding of new clients,
  • and review client files on an ongoing basis
  • Carry out a wide array of compliance ongoing monitoring activities and reviews, as established in the compliance monitoring programme, and prepare compliance reports containing the findings from such reviews together with following up on any agreed action points
  • Keep informed about regulatory requirements, primarily those emanating from EU directives and regulations, MFSA rules and AML/CFT rules, and assist the Company in the ongoing adherence with such requirements
  • Provide administrative support to the compliance function including the drafting of internal policies, manuals and procedures, and the maintenance and updating of all compliance registers
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of internal compliance training programmes
  • Maintain the company’s compliance-related software updated with all customer information and action any alerts or notifications in a timely manner
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic regulatory reports for submission to regulators
  • Form an integral part of the company’s compliance function, reporting directly to the company’s Compliance Officer and/or Money Laundering Reporting Officer
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Should possess a strong interest and continued willingness to learn about ongoing regulatory developments impacting the company
  • A qualification (minimum MQF level 5 equivalent) in financial services compliance or similar, or relevant compliance-related work experience will be considered an asset
  • Good IT literacy particularly in the use of financial/CRM/compliance software, MS Word and MS Excel, including familiarity with use of mail merge and pivot tables
  • A pro-active and highly organised individual with the ability to work both independently as well as in a collaborative team-oriented environment
  • Must be capable of taking full responsibility for duties assigned to him/her with high quality and within set deadlines
  • Must have a highly professional approach, high integrity and moral standards, and high attention to detail.
