GRS Recruitment is working in partnership with global brand who are searching for a Data Analyst to join the team. The successful candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in a data analytics role, 4+ years for a Data Analytics (Senior) role. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and cultivate relevant internal and external data sources and platforms for use in business reporting.
  • Qualify and validate data received, whether from internal systems or from external vendors, to ensure that data is of the highest quality and accuracy. 
  • Using critical thinking skills, perform ‘sanity checks’ and apply corrective action where necessary, both on received data and during the report generation process.
  • In collaboration with the Solutions and Design team, provide guidance on process or  system enhancements and suggest relevant changes which will improve overall data quality.
  • Adopt a consultative approach to identify and analyse specific data and reporting requirements of the business.
  • Propose and design reports to meet identified data and reporting requirements ensuring that relevant data sources are integrated effectively to create meaningful content.
  • Emphasise simplicity in output – easy to understand and interpret user-friendly reporting.
  • When necessary, customise reports for specific client requirements. Ensure that appropriate end user acceptance testing has occurred.
  • Continuously provide proactive interpretation of the report results, giving expert advice based on identified trends or anomalies, using best practice analytic methodology.
  • Focus on interpretation and translation of technical data into easily understood language which can trigger business decisions that are rooted in objective data.
  • At all times, follow and maintain best practices in data modelling and analysis methodologies.
  • Responsible for necessary maintenance of the Company’s reporting platforms, including but not limited to training end users on any changes. This should be done in collaboration with other internal resources, such as Learning and Development, Marketing and others.
  • Manage supplier relations with system vendors, escalating issues or breakdowns, to ensure quick resolution.
  • Perform any necessary ad hoc data and information regulatory functions when directed.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Tertiary qualification in Data Science or related field.
  • Relevant tenured work-related experience in data analytics may be considered in lieu of formal qualification.
  • Professional competence in Tableau would be advantageous.
  • Additional exposure to Information Builders, Jasper Reports or any other enterprise reporting tool.
  • Understanding of data integration issues (validation and cleaning), and familiarity with complex data and structures.
  • Knowledge of logical and physical data modelling concepts (relational and dimensional).
  • Knowledge of data analytics techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in SQL to build queries for reports.
  • Systems thinking and awareness.
  • Ability to work with agreed deadlines, working at a consistent pace to deliver quality results on time.
  • Ability to work within the boundaries of the architecture and existing design patterns and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail at highest level is non-negotiable.
  • Flexibility, managing multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
