GRS Recruitment are working with a leader in iGaming entertainment, dedicated to providing an engaging and trustworthy experience for our customers while working to transform the gambling industry. For this esteemed client we are looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to join the team in Limassol, reporting to senior management. The DPO will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws, monitoring adherence to data privacy standards, and acting as a primary contact for supervisory authorities and data subjects. In this role, you will develop policies, conduct training to enhance data protection awareness, and oversee our organization’s compliance with relevant legislation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assess and monitor data processing activities within the company to ensure compliance.

Provide guidance on conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

Supervise data management and compliance protocols across departments.

Collaborate with management to integrate privacy by design into all levels of the organization.

Maintain accurate records of processing operations.

Respond to data subject requests (e.g., deletion requests) within required legal timeframes.

Coordinate with third-party organizations processing data on our behalf.

Develop and update detailed data protection policies and guidelines.

Perform audits to determine if procedural changes are needed to stay compliant.

Offer consultation on handling privacy breaches effectively.

Organize GDPR training sessions to increase employee awareness.

Stay updated on relevant legislation and recommend compliance strategies.

Undertake other related duties as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Educated to bachelor’s degree level or the equivalent in Law or a related field.

Proven experience in data protection and legal compliance.

Strong knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws.

Familiarity with data processing operations in the iGaming industry is preferred but not required.

Understanding of computer security systems and data privacy measures.

Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.

Ethical and impartial approach with a commitment to reporting any non-compliance.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
