On behalf of our client a financial compliance unit specialising in all legal compliance matters GRS are recruiting a Senior Data Protection Officer for their offices in Malta. The purpose of this role is to ensure our client remains compliant with all GDPR and Data Protection rules. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Law and have previous experience with data protection regulations. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor and ensure that the company remains compliant with the GDPR and the Data Protection Act and any other data protection and privacy rules

Monitor developments in any legislation concerning data protection and privacy

Inform and provide advice on any matter concerning data protection
-
Act as the main contact point between the company and data subjects and handle all data subject requests

Assist in responding to any queries concerning data protection
-
Represent the company in any fora, whether locally or abroad, on any matters concerning data protection
-
Carry out or assist in any audits on data protection processes
-
Cooperate with the Information and Data Protection Commission or the Data Protection Unit within the Ministry for Justice, Equality and Governance.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
University Degree (MQF Level 6) in Law, IT or in any subject provided that the applicant has proven experience in data protection

Excellent communication skills in both the Maltese & English languages

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of data protection principles and laws
-
Experience in the implementation of data protection rules
-
Pleasant personality and be of a good moral character.
