A company which provides assistance and advise to Gaming companies is searching for a Data Quality Officer to join their team in Malta. You will report to the Head of Business Transformation and work closely with colleagues in the Data & Records department and assist in tasks related to the advancement of improved data management practices, which contribute to enhanced data quality. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Information Systems/ Technology, Computer Science, Engineering. You should have 2 years’ experience in a similar role and be proficient using SQL. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in Data Cleansing projects, intended to ensure that any data quality issues identified are tackled in a systematic manner. This will include participation in data cleansing work requiring manual intervention on the data.
  • Maintain the Data Catalogue, ensuring it is constantly up to date by following related processes.
  • Assist Data Steward in his duties, including in efforts aimed at increasing the awareness of employees on data governance best practices.
  • Assist the Data Steward in ensuring that all work carried out in relation to Data Governance and Management undergoes proper change control as per the Quality Management System, and that all process improvement activities led by the OPEX team give due consideration to data management and data quality matters.
  • Audit data on a regular basis to ensure suitable data quality and integrity.
  • Assist with ongoing data architecture and governance processes.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, any of the Engineering disciplines or a related field from an accredited college/university.
  • Have 2 years’ experience in a similar/related position.
  • Have hands on experience in using SQL Server data tools and sound knowledge in SQL.
  • Experienced in maintaining and administering database environments and tuning their performance.
  • Good knowledge of XML, XSD technologies will be considered an asset.
  • Experienced in building power BI reports will be considered an asset.
  • Comfortable in communicating with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Have a passion to learn and to try new features that can help our organisation.
  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with an ability to extract, translate and communicate meaningful information at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in participating in data/IT projects spanning functional, operational, and technical domains to optimise business results.
  • Some knowledge of data lineage, taxonomies, catalogue and metadata management.
  • Some knowledge of master data management, data governance, and/or data quality – experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure) is preferred.
