Our client, one of the most known European manufacturing companies is working with GRS to recruit a Plant Department Manager. For this role you will be responsible for manufacturing a range of company products which are delivered directly to customers within and/or external to the Group.  Whilst ensuring an efficient running of the Department’s operation, at the correct quality level with the least amount of waste, in a healthy and safe manner. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for Managing and Leading a team with various Grades required to run the operation.
  • Ensures correct operating procedures are being followed by all personnel in the Department and maintains a continuous improvement drive.
  • Ensure customer orders are produced and delivered in time, and in a profitable manner.
  • Ensure the required quality level is always attained, through adherence to the company’s Quality Manual and seeks means to constantly optimize the final product quality level.
  • Assist in the Planning function and ensures that the Supply Chain is operating efficiently, by coordinating with the various Points of Supply (i.e. other PGs, Injection, Suppliers and Subcontractors) to deliver material in time to satisfy customer demands.
  • Play an active role in the recruitment process and ensures that personnel within the Department maintain mutual respect, and a correct approach to their leaders, peers, and subordinates. 
  • Ensure personnel are appropriately trained and qualified to operate within their role/function.
  • Plan the adequate Manpower requirements to meet the Customer requirements.
  • Institute methods to constantly reduce waste.
  • Preparation of Yearly Departmental Budgets and Investments, and adherence when approved.
  • Ensure upkeep of machinery and equipment in responsibility through established routine Preventive Maintenance Programs.
  • Ensures that all workstations, machines and locations within area of responsibility are well organized at all times.
  • Investigate, proposes and implements ways to improve further the operation of the Department through better operating methods.
  • Analyze and propose improvements to machinery/automation to better cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures and instructions are followed at all times.
  • Ensure that documentation required to manage the operation is filled, maintained and archived as per established procedures.
  • Perform any other task, within the area of responsibility, as required by Top Management.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Good Leadership.
  • Good Technical knowledge.
  • Good Communicator.
  • Good Level of Education (minimum MQF/EQF Level 5).
