GRS is working closely with a long-established and diversified group of companies in Cyprus, currently seeking to recruit a Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Deputy CFO) to join their finance team at the head office in Limassol. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused and hands-on finance professional to take on a critical leadership position within the organisation. -
Support the CFO in overseeing daily financial operations across the group’s entities.
-
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports in compliance with IFRS and internal controls.
-
Take a practical, hands-on approach, understanding, executing, and improving finance tasks yourself rather than relying solely on team input.
-
Engage with operational teams to understand business processes and translate operations into meaningful financial insights.
-
Challenge and validate financial information provided by operational and departmental managers to ensure accuracy and reliability.
-
Drive continuous process improvement across all financial workflows to enhance productivity.
-
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, and capital expenditure planning.
-
Ensure accurate and secure use of financial systems, including access control and data integrity.
-
Act as one of the few qualified professionals within the team, providing guidance to less experienced team members and identifying opportunities for training and efficiency.
-
Collaborate with external tax and legal consultants to ensure compliance and optimise group tax strategy.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong preference for candidates with industry/commercial experience rather than audit-only backgrounds.

Minimum 5 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
-
Strong operational understanding with the ability to engage with non-finance departments to gather insights and add value.
-
Advanced Excel skills are essential – candidates will be required to complete a time-based Excel assessment as part of the recruitment process.
-
Highly computer literate, with experience in ERP and accounting systems.
-
A proactive, critical thinker who is comfortable challenging assumptions and asking the right questions.
