A leading law firm is looking for a Deputy MLRO Officer to join their Compliance team in Malta. The main focus of the role is to assist the MLRO with the implementation and maintenance of a compliant AML/CFT programme. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience as a Senior AML Officer or similar role and ideally hold Compliance certification. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Firm’s internal AML/CFT policies, procedures, and systems
  • Oversee AML/CFT measures, policies, controls and procedures on a daily basis
  • Monitor all aspects of the business to identify actual or potential weaknesses of internal controls and advise on remedial action that may be taken
  • Support and assist in the general day-to-day duties relating to customer acceptance, including customer on-boarding and the subsequent reviews
  • Assist in the analysis of the Firm’s customer profiles through conducting Customer Risk Assessments (both at on-boarding stage and on an ongoing basis)
  • Provide support in the preparation of internal reports for senior management
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and any other feedback to authorities
  • Assist in the analysis of internal and external suspicious reports
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff members on regulatory and statutory obligations
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of training and other learning activities; and
  • Deputise for the MLRO, as necessary.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Ideally have certification in Compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of AML / CFT.
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
