An International Examining Body in Nicosia that assesses and provides Professional English Certifications of varying proficiencies is looking for educators with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience of the English Language to work with them on a flexible basis in the months of December-January and then again May-July when most of the exams are being sat. The hours needed to be worked are flexible but are office-based due to strict privacy laws. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Conduct online spoken interviews according to the Interlocutor Framework and provided regulations on induction
  • Ensure standardisation and consistency of interlocution
  • Assess the candidate’s performance in accordance with the provided stringent assessment criteria and processes
  • Perform the required procedures to authenticate the candidate’s identity and safeguard exam integrity in accordance with the organisation’s standards, regulations and processes
  • Attend provided trainings and standardisation sessions as required for updates and continuity of examination standards
  • Always uphold the requirement for confidentiality of examination material and security
  • Provide feedback on assessment material, as required
  • Complete a variety of additional tasks and be actively involved in work-related assignments as instructed by their supervisor
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in English Language or similar field, or any undergraduate degree with TEFL/TESOL qualification (Level 5 and above) from a recognized institution. Post graduate, Research degree and/ or Teaching Qualifications will be taken into consideration towards the completion of the above minimum requirement
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ full-time TEFL teaching experience (Freelance and volunteer teaching is not included) and demonstrable experience in English language assessment examining with awarding bodies
  • Thorough knowledge of the Common European Framework (CEFR) and its levels.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office/Teams and be IT Literate
  • English language (C2/ native-like). Excellent listening, writing and speaking skills, clear enunciation and articulation, adapting language and form of communication to meet the needs of different audiences
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment.
  • Previous work experience in the professional/educational certification or training and exam fields is desirable but not essential
