A local and established shipping service provider is looking for an Environmental Manager to join their growing team in Limassol.  The successful candidate will be a holder of all relevant qualifications and have relevant experience in the shipping industry.  If you have the relevant skills and are interested in joining a company with great opportunities, then we look forward to receiving your CV for this Limassol based Environmental Manager role.  
 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervising verification engagement process and ensuring adequacy as required by Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
  • Supervising the implementation of the Organization’s QMS procedures in line with ISO 14065 standard
  • Carrying out pre-contract review as per QMS procedures
  • Providing and ensuring success in various relevant quotations
  • Assigned adequate and qualified Environmental Verifier (EV) and Environmental Independent Reviewer (EIR) and instruct them as necessary as per QMS procedures
  • If requested, appoint a qualified Environmental Technical Lead (ETL)
  • Issuance of conformance review letters/ certificates as required by the applicable procedures
  • Ensuring proper use of company’s platform
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • A degree or equivalent qualification from a tertiary institution recognized within a relevant field of engineering or physical science or a degree in nautical science having a technical expertise (minimum three years’ program)
  • Have understanding of quality standards / requirements
  • Trained as an external emissions verifier (European Union / Emissions Trading System (EU/ETS) and/or European Union / Monitoring Reporting & Verification (EU/MRV) and/or United Kingdom / Monitoring Reporting & Verification (UK MRV)
  • At least least two (2) years’ experience working in the maritime industry involved in technical and/or quality related items.  Technical related items and experience can be demonstrated through surveying and/or superintend and/or plan approval activities and/or services concerning assessment of monitoring plan and the verification of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emission reports pursuant to the EU and/or UK MRV Regulations. Quality related items and experience can be demonstrated through Health Safety Quality & Environment (HSQE) and/or appointment as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) / Company/Ship Security Officer (CSO) activities. A degree from a tertiary institution recognized within a relevant field of engineering (minimum three-years program)

  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Fluency in English written and spoken
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of the EU and UK MRV Regulations
  • Knowledge of the IMO Data Collection System (DCS) and Operation Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) scheme
  • Knowledge of the Clean Shipping Index (CSI) scheme
