A well standing construction company with offices in Nicosia is working in partnership with GRS Recruitment to hire an Estimator who will be responsible for evaluating, developing, preparing and submitting high-quality tender proposals within specified deadlines to maximise the company's success in securing contracts. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review tender documentation, specifications, and conditions to identify key requirements, risks, and commercially significant issues.
- Perform detailed and accurate quantity take‑offs, including preparation of BOQs when required by the tendering process, ensuring consistency and precision in all measurements.
- Prepare subcontract tender packages for tenders and request quotations from the market.
- Engage with subcontractors in the market, prepare, structure, and maintain evaluation sheets to ensure efficient and effective comparisons and pricing analysis.
- Prepare material lists for tenders and communicate to procurement department for obtaining market quotations.
- Ensure the complete and timely preparation of all components of the tender, including quantity take-offs, subcontractor evaluations, material lists, and any other related documentation.
- Conduct detailed review, analysis, and preparation of the technical and specialized supporting documents required for the tender submission.
- Maintain updated price lists, supplier data, and measurement records.
- Work collaboratively with the estimating team to ensure deadlines and quality requirements are met.
- Liaise and collaborate with company stakeholders involved in the preparation of the technical proposal (e.g. Quantity Surveyor, Procurement Manager, Plant Manager, Construction Managers, etc.).
- Combining the above, participate in the development of accurate project cost estimates, preparation of the commercial/cost proposal.
- Work collaboratively with the estimating team to transfer all related tender information of successful tenders to the construction team.
- Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to analyse and evaluate the reasons for both successful and unsuccessful bids and identify opportunities for improvement.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying and at least 3 years of experience relevant to their degree.
- Any related diploma or certificate, which is considered an advantage, combined with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent command of business Greek and English reading and writing.
- Experience in roles related to collecting and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Solid knowledge of the construction market in Cyprus, including suppliers and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and measurement principles.
- Experience reading and interpreting tender documents, specifications, and contractual terms, with the ability to highlight critical points.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, structured worksheets, comparisons, data accuracy).
- Working experience with AutoCAD or similar.
- Excellent communication skills with both internal teams and external collaborators.
- Ability to extract needed information politely and effectively from colleagues and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and exceptional accuracy in measurements and data handling.
- Strong teamwork mindset, reliability, and willingness to support the wider estimating department.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- €25,000 - €32,000 Gross Per Annum
- Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.

- 38-hour weekly schedule
