A global media company supporting a charitable cause are working with GRS to recruit a Finance Director for their newly established Cyprus offices. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years post qualified experience currently operating at a similar level, with fluency in both Greek and English. You will be responsible for the efforts, results, and success of the organisation's finance department. You will provide financial advice and support to help senior executives make key decisions. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Excel model group company activities, maintain and adjust.
  • Review, and day to day control of the budgets for each business department in multi-jurisdictions.
  • Ensure that all the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
  • Put in place Sales tax and tariff systems for international sales of physical and digital goods and services and appropriate reclaim systems. 
  • Work with controllers of regional budgets, with occasional travel.
  • Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
  • Make and supervise payments, invoicing, payroll, etc.
  • Prepare official reports for CEO and CFO as requested.
  • Prepare spend reports for film rebate or other subsidy schemes.
  • Be involved in negotiations as requested by CEO/CFO.
  • Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk.
  • Cooperate with auditors to ensure financial monitoring is up to date in multi-jurisdictions. 
  • Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants.
  • Update and implement financial policies and procedures.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years post qualified experience, presently serving in a senior finance role.
  • You will have previously worked in a senior financial role in a multi-jurisdiction organisation, ideally coming from the media industry.
  • Exceptional Greek and English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be very hands on, self-supporting and self-starting.
  • Ability to undertake overtime as required and the flexibility to work with global time zones.
  • Excellent mathematical and leadership skills.
  • Integrity, honesty and an understanding of data privacy standards.
  • A thorough understanding of business principles and practices.
  • Superior attention to detail, organisational skills, planning and problem-solving skills.
