Our client, a boutique Corporate Service and Trust provider in Malta, now has an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join their diverse and friendly team in Malta. In this role you will be responsible for the preparation of the Group’s Management and finances, to be successful in the role you must be ACCA qualified or hold a relevant degree with at least 2 years’ experience in an internal accounting function. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Group’s Management and financial statements
  • Management of the related personnel/staff complement.
  • Monitoring of work in progress within the internal accounts department
  • Proposal of budgets of expenditure and revenue forecasts annually for subsequent financial year and at such other times as may be determined in accordance with Group policies in relation to the Group.
  • Provision of guidance on all technical issues relating or pertaining to Group accounts
  • Liaison with, and point of reference for, all other departments within the Group-on-Group accounts
  • Management of accounting tools
  • Approval of payments and authorised signatory
  • Managing the Group statutory audit
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Group’s fiscal returns
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Hold a university degree or obtained the ACCA qualification
  • Display strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Be self-motivated, show initiative and be capable of working independently within challenging environments, while practising high ethical standards at all times
  • Possess the ability to lead and build effective working relationships with finance colleagues and management teams
  • Able to influence and motivate the team in the implementation of plans for radical change and process improvement.
  • Have a minimum of two years' finance experience working within an internal accounting function
  • Be an innovative team player with the ability to work effectively under pressure and is able to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Applications particularly MS Excel
  • Experience in using Xero would be considered as an asset.
