GRS Recruitment is excited to announce an opportunity for a Financial Controller Assistant to join a well-established real estate investment and hotel operations group in Larnaca. ​​​​​​The Group is focusing on turning around underperforming hotel properties through innovative design, refurbishment programs, rebranding and repositioning. They are seeking a professional who can contribute to their mission and help elevate the financial operations of the company. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Ensure the accounting records of the Group’s companies comply with applicable IAS and IFRS
  • Responsible for a team of bookkeepers
  • Coordinating and monitoring the audit process and reviewing of the Financial Statements prepared by the auditors for compliance with the applicable IAS and IFRS
  • Ensuring that the Group’s companies comply with the applicable legal and tax requirements
  • Assisting the Group’s Director with any other tasks as required by the management
  • Assist the Group financial controller in the preparation of the Group Financial Statements
  • Prepare breakdown of components of the Group Financial Statements
  • Prepare and maintain accounting records and summaries (Fixed asset registers / IFRS 16 schedules / Loan reconciliations)
  • Manage the external audit process by liaising with the auditors and local controllers (collecting & providing required deliverables)
  • Perform financial analyses as required by the management
CANDIDATE PROFILE 
  • ACA or ACCA, or any other similar professional accounting qualification (part-qualified will be considered, 2-3 exams pending)
  • University/College graduate degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years in similar position (audit/accounting department)
  • Knowledge of auditing and accounting practices and principles
  • Computer literate – MS Office (Excel/Word)
  • Fluent in English (verbal / written communications)
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Independent, proactive and team player
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive working attitude
