An international gaming company is looking for a Game Artist to join their team in Malta on a remote basis. You will work in collaboration with product managers, game developers, and key stakeholders to create stunning assets for use in projects and games. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using Spine and 2D animation software as well as UI/UX design, with proven experience in creating animations and dynamic games for the web. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Create high-quality animations of characters, objects, backgrounds, symbols, and logos using Spine animation software.

Collaborate with a cross-functional team of game developers, product managers, and stakeholders to develop game visuals from concept to final production.

Create high-quality storyboards and animations in Spine in all areas of the game from characters to backgrounds to game symbols and visual elements.

Produce concepts and mock-ups and assist developers throughout the game development process.

Provide creative input for new game concepts and mechanics during ideation sessions.

Continually optimize assets, keeping art files organized and primed for animation and game development.

Embrace feedback from your peers, using it to refine and perfect your designs until they shine with the desired artistic vision.

Maintain consistency in art style and quality across all facets of the game.

Share knowledge and recommend best practices in your area of operation.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Degree in Art, Design, Animation, or a related field.
-
At least 3 years’ experience working as a game artist, or a similar role in the social and/or real money gaming industry.

Excellent understanding and ability to animate in Esoteric Spine.

Strong understanding of animation principles, such as key poses, squash and stretch, anticipation, follow-through, etc.

Skilled in designing and creating original graphics from scratch with efficiency, along with full proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite tools, specifically After Effects and Illustrator.

Understanding of game mechanics and how to compile animations for a game pipeline.

A proactive self-starter attitude, with excellent collaboration skills.
