GRS Recruitment is partnering with a leading Cyprus Investment Firm to recruit a hands-on Head of Compliance. This role is responsible for leading the compliance function and ensuring the company remains fully compliant with all applicable CySEC and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will oversee the Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP), maintain and develop compliance policies and procedures, prepare regulatory and Board reports, and act as a key advisor to the Executive Team and Board of Directors on compliance matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional with practical experience within an active, regulated company to take ownership of the compliance function and lead a small team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage the company’s compliance function, providing strategic direction and day-to-day oversight.

Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP).

Create, review, and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively communicated and implemented across the company.

Conduct internal compliance reviews and audits to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.

Lead investigations into compliance breaches and oversee appropriate corrective and remedial actions.

Monitor regulatory developments, legislative changes, and industry standards, ensuring the company remains compliant with applicable requirements.

Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and submissions to relevant authorities, including CySEC, CBC, and ICF.

Prepare regular compliance reports and updates for the Executive Team and Board of Directors.

Identify, assess, and monitor compliance risks and develop appropriate measures to mitigate these risks.

Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities on compliance-related matters.

Work closely with internal departments to ensure compliance requirements are understood and effectively implemented.

Provide compliance advice and guidance to the Executive Team and Board of Directors.

Design and deliver compliance training for employees and members of the Board of Directors.

Lead, supervise, and support the compliance team, ensuring effective allocation of responsibilities and delivery of compliance activities.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within an active, regulated company. Experience in a dormant company or a company awaiting licence activation will not be considered sufficient.

At least 1 year of leadership experience, with direct responsibility for supervising a team of more than one person.

CySEC Advanced Certificate – mandatory.

CySEC AML Certificate will be considered an advantage.

Strong knowledge of CySEC regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.

Good understanding of applicable local and EU regulatory requirements.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Proven leadership and team management abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict regulatory deadlines.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

€50,000 - €60,000 Gross Per Annum

Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and skills. The advertised salary range is indicative, any offer will reflect the successful candidate’s suitability.
