A financial service company in the SME corporate lending space providing flexible and tailored lending solutions that help business owners achieve their goals, are working with GRS to recruit a Head of Credit Risk for their newly established Cyprus office. The successful candidate will have proven experience in credit risk management, preferably within the SME lending sector in a leadership role. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain the company's credit risk policies and procedures.

Ensure policies are in line with regulatory requirements and company goals.

Continuously assess and update risk criteria to adapt to market changes and company strategy.

Provide brokers with detailed guidelines and support to ensure they can offer loans that meet our risk criteria.

Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for brokers on credit risk policies and best practices.

Review and sign off on loan agreements to ensure compliance with credit risk policies.

Evaluate loan applications for potential risks and make informed decisions to mitigate those risks.

Work closely with the underwriting team to ensure accurate risk assessments.

Lead and manage the credit risk team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.

Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and training to perform their roles effectively.

Act as a Director of the company, participating in strategic planning and decision-making.

Provide insights and recommendations on credit risk management to senior leadership.

Contribute to the overall business strategy with a focus on risk management and sustainable growth.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Proven experience in credit risk management, preferably within the SME lending sector.

Strong understanding of credit risk policies, regulatory requirements, and market trends.

Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational skills including the ability to work independently, prioritise activities, meet commitments and manage time effectively.

Robust problem-solving skills and the ability to make recommendations based on findings, considering commercial and customer implications.
