This expanding brand is currently searching for a Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs to be the cornerstone of their legal strategy. The company’s mission is to deliver world-class trading infrastructure for everyone. As the Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, you will be advising executive leadership on complex financial regulations, emerging fintech frameworks, and cross-border operational compliance. Your expertise will drive smart, risk-aware decisions and enable our global business initiatives to thrive.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advise the executive team on legal and regulatory risk to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Lead our global regulatory strategy, including licensing pathways and international compliance.
  • Represent the company in engagements with regulators, legal authorities, and external counsel worldwide.
  • Monitor, interpret, and apply changes in laws impacting fintech, banking, crypto, and investment services.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial agreements, ISDA documentation, and trading contracts.
  • Support new product development and distribution strategies, ensuring regulatory alignment.
  • Advise on data protection, cybersecurity, and privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, ISO standards).
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage legal risks across operations, technology, and emerging financial products.
  • Conduct legal risk assessments to support product launches and new business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Operations to ensure robust internal controls.
  • Manage IP matters, including protection, enforcement, and technology licensing.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire legal team members, fostering a high-trust, high-performing culture.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Law degree (LLB or equivalent); advanced qualifications like LLM or MBA are a plus.
  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience in online trading, fintech, or financial services, with global regulatory exposure.
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, swaps, futures, CFDs) and experience with virtual assets, digital financial products, or electronic payments.
  • Proven expertise in managing cross-jurisdictional legal matters, including corporate structuring, licensing, and compliance.
  • Exceptional command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools
  • Experience thriving in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments.
