A newly established electronic money institution based in Limassol are looking to recruit a Head Underwriter. The Underwriting Team is part of the Risk department, which is responsible for combating bribery and corruption in the regions. The team performs underwriting processes for prospect merchants, ensuring that our operations comply with AML and CFT regulations. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Manage and mentor a team of underwriters, setting clear objectives, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the underwriting process for new and existing customers, evaluating risk factors, creditworthiness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain underwriting policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of the EMI's customer portfolio, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate actions to mitigate them.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
  • Make informed underwriting decisions, balancing risk and reward to support business growth while minimizing exposure.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Risk Management, Legal, and Compliance, to address emerging risks and develop strategies to manage them.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and regulatory authorities on underwriting activities, risk exposure, and compliance.
  • Continuously assess and enhance the underwriting process to increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Successfully completed banking or comparable training and experience in the AML area or comparable qualification
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills, conflict management skills
  • Thorough and methodical approach to work as well as pronounced attention to detail
  • Fluent English and good MS Office skills
