Our client, a well-established company based in Nicosia, is seeking a dedicated and professional Health & Safety Officer to join their team. This exciting opportunity is perfect for an experienced individual passionate about health and safety standards within the retail sector. The role will function as an independent site inspector and compliance enforcer, responsible not only for Health & Safety supervision but also for general site discipline, workmanship control, and enforcement of company procedures. The successful candidate will play a critical role in protecting the company's reputation, people, and assets. 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct regular site inspections across PV parks, net billing systems, and net metering installations
  • Ensure compliance with Cyprus Health & Safety legislation, EU directives, and company procedures
  • Identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliances, and take corrective action when required
  • Stop works in cases of serious Health & Safety breaches
  • Inspect completed projects before EAC inspection and grid connection
  • Monitor site discipline, housekeeping, workmanship standards, and installer performance
  • Issue inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action instructions
  • Report incidents, near misses, and compliance issues to Senior Management
  • Advise on risk reduction measures and support the improvement of H&S and quality procedures
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all projects and teams
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Act independently on all Health & Safety and site compliance matters
  • Enforce company standards and escalate serious or repeated issues to Senior Management
  • The successful candidate may also be requested to support other companies within the Group, depending on business needs.
  • Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Recognized Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in:
    • Construction, energy, or PV/renewable energy projects
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Health & Safety legislation
    • Construction site practices
  • Valid driving license
  • Experience specifically in PV installations, net metering, or net billing systems
  • Experience in a site inspection or auditing role
  • Membership in a relevant professional body
