Our client, a forward-thinking gaming company based in Malta, is seeking a passionate and experienced HR Director to lead their human resources strategies. The Human Resources Director will lead the HR department, overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role is key to ensuring organisational effectiveness by developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with the business’s mission and strategic goals. The HR Director will support and enhance the organisation's human capital by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Additionally, this role will oversee the corporate branding initiatives to ensure a consistent and compelling corporate image.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Leadership and Strategic Management:
  • Develop and execute HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process.
  • Support current and future business needs through developing, engaging, motivating, and preserving human capital.
  • Provide guidance to executive leadership on workforce planning, organisational design, succession planning, and talent optimisation.
  • Lead and support organizational development and change management initiatives, ensuring effective communication and employee involvement.
Corporate Branding Oversight:
  • Oversee the corporate branding strategy to enhance and align the company's public image with its strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms.
  • Lead branding initiatives that improve employer branding as part of attracting top talent.
Policy Formulation and HR Operations:
  • Oversee and lead the annual HR strategy and planning.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organisation.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Lead the design of performance management processes that promote accountability and growth.
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Manage complex employee relations casework, including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absences, retirement, and redundancy.
  • Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies related to people, culture, and organisational continuity.
Budget Management:
  • Develop and control the departmental budget to ensure that resources are appropriately utilised and financial targets are met.
Training and Development:
  • Introduce tools and programmes that measure and enhance employee competence, including skills matrices and development plans.
  • Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of appropriate training and development programs.
Talent Management:
  • Establish a sound management succession plan that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Drive alignment between workforce and strategic needs.
Compensation, Benefits, and HR Operations:
  • Oversee salary benchmarking, compensation structures, and benefits administration, ensuring competitiveness within the igaming market.
  • Maintain accurate HR metrics and reporting to support data-driven decisions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, a Master’s degree or HR professional qualification
  • Minimum of five years’ HR experience in senior leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience in developing HR strategy and leading HR transformation and operational initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Maltese employment law and current HR best practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and business partnering skills
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to translate HR data into meaningful actions and business outcomes.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
