On behalf of our client a mechanical and marine engineering company with multiple Cypriot offices, we are currently recruiting for a HSE Advisor for their Limassol Office. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a HSE role and be fully fluent in both Greek and English. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Promote good health, safety and environmental practices throughout all Company activities.
  • Keep up to date with HSE Regulation
  • Review the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy Statements on an annual basis.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of HSE Meetings and HSE Committee Meetings.
  • Ensure the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the company HSE Management Systems.
  • Devise, develop and monitor effective Risk Assessment management strategies and make recommendations on the implementation of these strategies.
  • Review and develop health and safety policies, procedures and guidance, in keeping with best practice and make recommendations on their implementation and application.
  • Consult with senior managers and other line managers and give appropriate advice on formulating best-practice policies and procedures.
  • Provide independent professional advice and technical information where appropriate to senior managers and all line managers to enable the company to meet its statutory and employee obligations, keeping staff and Managers abreast of changes in HSE Legislation and Codes of Practice.
  • Provide, or where necessary source, training for staff in relation to HSE policies, practice and procedures.
  • Propose, implement and monitor measures necessary to comply with HSE Legislation and Codes of Practice
  • Carry out or arrange workplace safety audits and ensure that any remedial recommendations are implemented.
  • Ensure that statutory requirements are being upheld throughout the organization e.g. COSHH, Risk Assessments etc.
  • Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends and propose and take remedial action where necessary.
  • Investigate or arrange for all accidents and near-misses be investigated, prepare report of findings, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of action.
  • Assist and support the Line Managers in the preparation of risk assessments.
  • Monitor the availability and appropriateness of risk assessments and, where necessary, safe working practices.
  • Maintain a register of First Aiders and ensure the adequate provision of first-aid and welfare facilities.
  • Develop procedures to ensure that contractors, suppliers, consultants and other irregular visitors to the company comply with relevant legislation and safety policies.
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with the job role
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Extensive experience in a similar role
  • Experience developing and maintaining HSE Policies and Procedures
  • Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering or safety related fields
  • Possess all industry related training and certificates for Health and safety with the Marine industry
  • Proficient with the latest tools and methodology of risk assessment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and word
  • Possess good interpersonal communication and technical report writing skills
  • Fluent in both Greek and English to business level
