A Maltese firm specializing in accountancy, advisory, and corporate services for a primarily international clientele has partnered with GRS Recruitment Malta to recruit a detail-oriented and experienced Internal Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will manage the company's internal accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Maltese regulations and standards. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure all financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Perform necessary month-end accounting tasks and reconciliations.
  • Oversee and manage the entire billing cycle.
  • Process invoices and payments accurately and on time.
  • Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns and annual tax returns.
  • Handle monthly payroll and fulfil FSS obligations.
  • Implement and maintain procedures to monitor outstanding receivables and manage credit risk.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation.
  • Prepare periodic management accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Conduct analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in the corporate services sector.
  • In-depth understanding of Maltese accounting standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
