Our client a specialist in the Shipmanagement and Offshore Projects sector, are working with GRS to recruit an IT Systems Administrator for their Limassol offices. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in a similar role. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor helpdesk and provide 1st level support to users and escalate incidents to higher-level support if needed.
  • Install configure and maintain virtual Microsoft Operating systems.
  • Setup, configure and troubleshoot managed network switches.
  • Troubleshoots software, hardware or network related issues.
  • Proven hands-on experience in managing firewall security policies, creation of VPN accounts for users.
  • Establishes and troubleshoots network connectivity for LANs, VLANs and WANs.
  • Applies test and assessment of new technologies (software/hardware).
  • Maintains backup system and ensures high availability of core systems.
  • Setup, configuration and monitoring of various IT systems.
  • Proven hands-on experience in administration for multi-site Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, RDS, WSUS, Intranet web server, Exchange Server and Office 365.
  • Proven hands-on experience in administration of storage systems MSA/P2000.
  • Proven hands-on experience in the administration of clustered VMWARE environment.
  • Administer corporate mobile devices with MDM (Android/iPhone).
  • Administer the VoIP telephony system.
  • Administer SQL Databases.
  • Administers and customises centralised endpoint protection.
  • Administers and support vessels in Cyprus and abroad for any raised ticket for IT infrastructure/network/security.
  • Travel between the group offices and abroad for any business requirements related to the smooth operation of offices and vessels.
  • Troubleshooting problems as well as providing solutions to new projects arising from business needs or client requirements.
  • Setting up lab environments to ensure testing for continuous deployment and 24/7 operations of our fleet regarding the new software, patches and other updates.
  • Work on an on-call rotation round the clock providing 1st level support to users, office datacentres and vessels server rooms.
  • Create and maintain documented IT designs, document policies and procedures.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and cybersecurity is mandatory.
  • Attend IT meetings for coordination and planning ahead.
  • Daily report directly to the IT Manager to communicate any issues, tasks or project status.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related subject
  • Familiarity with cyber security regulations.
  • At least five years previous work experience in a similar role.
  • Solid and proven experience with on-premises and cloud technologies, highly desirable experience on Microsoft Servers, VMWARE, Veeam.
  • Solid networking and network communication equipment and protocols knowledge.
  • Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA A+, Server +, Network +, Security +  and CCNA  will be considered a major advantage.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to be proactive, perform under pressure and meet daily 1st level support time-delivery to users for computers/printers/computer-server issues.
