A successful auditing firm based in Nicosia is currently looking for a Junior Accountant to join their growing team.  The successful candidate will have at least 6 months of working experience and speak fluent Greek and English.  If you are interested in taking the next step in your career and joining a professional company which provides training and development, then this is the job for you!  We look forward to receiving your CV for this Nicosia based Junior Accountant role. 
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Post and processe journal entries to ensure that all business transactions are recorded in the accounting software.
  • File all accounting documents in Clients’ Files.
  • Update accounts receivable and proceed with the posting of invoices.
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
  • Assistsin the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
  • Assist accountants and senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
  • Assist with other accounting projects.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Good knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly (Quickbooks, WiseBos AML and Time Sheets, and Database Software).
  • Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Pleasant personality with a “can do” attitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in meeting deadlines.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Less than six months of working experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Very good user of the Greek and English language.
  • Office position.
  • Occasional inland travel to clients’ premises.
  • Working hours are 8:30 a.m. – 17:30 p.m. (with one-hour lunch break between 13:00 p.m. – 14:00 p.m.), except Friday, where the working hours are from 8:30 a.m. – 14:30 p.m.
