As a Junior Finance and Accounting Specialist, you’ll play a key role in keeping the company’s financial operations smooth, accurate, and on point. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Managing Financial Records: Keep financial records up-to-date for the assigned entities, ensuring all data is properly authorized, coded, and recorded.
  • Invoicing Excellence: Review and generate client invoices according to service agreements, ensuring timely and accurate processing to meet month-end requirements.
  • Client Communication: Handle client inquiries about invoicing and quickly provide any clarification needed. You’ll be the go-to person for invoicing support!
  • Collections & Payments: Help ensure timely collection of receivables and assist in preparing bi-weekly payment runs to keep the cash flow healthy.
  • Vendor Coordination: Raise purchase orders in the company’s system and liaise with different departments to ensure smooth coordination of vendor and client invoices.
  • Assist with Financial Reports: Play a supporting role in preparing the company’s management accounts, annual financial statements, and audit preparations.
  • Compliance & Statutory Reporting: Assist with VAT, VIES, Provisional Tax, and other statutory reporting as needed.
  • Other Cool Tasks: Take on any other tasks that come your way as defined by management – we’re all about teamwork and flexibility!
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • A university degree in Accounting or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel – you love working with numbers!
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy – nothing gets past you.
  • Solid communication skills in both oral and written English.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment and multitask like a pro.
Bonus Points for:
  • Familiarity with Cyprus VAT legislation.
  • Experience in the maritime industry – ideally in a shipping or related sector.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks, MS Dynamics, or Navision.
