DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the monthly payroll process for crew members employed across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring that all required information is collected and submitted within the applicable deadlines.

Review and validate payroll data, including salaries, working periods, leave, overtime, allowances, deductions, cash advances, reimbursements and payroll adjustments.

Record payroll changes relating to new joiners, leavers, promotions, transfers, contract amendments and changes to banking or personal details.

Maintain complete and accurate payroll records and supporting documentation in the relevant payroll and crew management systems.

Coordinate with Crew HR, Crew Planning, Finance and external payroll providers to clarify missing or inconsistent payroll information.

Prepare payroll reports, payment information and supporting schedules for review and approval.

Reconcile payroll results against the source data and investigate any differences or unusual movements.

Assist with payroll-related statutory requirements by ensuring that the necessary data and documentation are complete and provided to the relevant payroll providers.

Respond to crew payroll enquiries professionally and confidentially, including questions relating to payslips, deductions, allowances and reimbursements.

Escalate complex payroll matters or discrepancies to the responsible Senior Payroll Officer in a timely manner.

Support internal and external audits by preparing the required payroll reports and supporting documentation.

Follow established payroll controls, procedures and checklists, and contribute to improvements in payroll processes and data quality.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Initial experience in payroll, accounting, finance, HR administration or shipping administration is preferred.

A degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Shipping or a related field is an advantage.

Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.

Very good organisational skills and the ability to meet strict monthly deadlines.

An analytical and solution-focused approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Confidence using Microsoft Excel and other digital systems.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion.

A collaborative and proactive working style, combined with the ability to work independently.

Fluent written and spoken English; German is an advantage.
SALARY AND BENEFITS

€20,000 - €25,000 Gross Per Annum
