The Junior Research Analyst will play a key supporting role in advancing the Authority’s policy and research agenda. This position is designed for an individual who is passionate about evidence-based regulation and stakeholder engagement. The role involves assisting in policy development, conducting research and data analysis, and contributing to public consultations and reporting. Working closely with the Research & Insight team, the Junior Research Analyst will help ensure that the Authority’s decisions are informed by robust analysis and that stakeholders are engaged effectively in shaping regulatory outcomes.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Policy Support:
  • Assist in drafting policy briefs, consultation documents, and internal notes.
  • Support comparative analyses of regulatory approaches and practices relevant to the topics under review, ensuring insights are aligned with best practices and emerging trends.
Research & Insight:
  • Conduct desk research and literature reviews on gambling-related topics and adjacent sectors.
  • Assist in data collection, validation, and basic analysis to support thematic studies and official publications.
  • Help monitor sector developments and regulatory innovations globally.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Support the coordination of stakeholder consultations.
  • Assist in summarising responses and preparing reports for internal and external audiences.
Reporting & Communication:
  • Contribute to drafting clear and concise summaries of research findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist in preparing content for presentations, reports, and public-facing documents
  • Carry out such other duties and functions as may be assigned by Chief Officer – Policy & International Affairs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • In possession of a law or a bachelor’s degree in policy, social sciences, public administration, communication, economics or in another related field (MQF level 6 or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail. 
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with data visualisation tools is an asset. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks under guidance. 
  • Interest in gambling regulation, behavioural policy, or related regulated industries is an advantage.
