A maritime transportation company offering integrated logistics solutions, are working in partnership with GRS to recruit a Legal Advisor & Claims Handler for their Limassol office. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar in-house role or experience in a private practice law firm with specialisation in shipping and corporate law. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide legal support to the company’s Chartering and Operations Department.

Conduct Legal Research.

Handle FD&D disputes (e.g. Hire related disputes, demurrage disputes etc), participate in settlement negotiations under supervision from management and maintain an organised and diligent record of all active disputes.

Preparation of case bundles and litigation and arbitration case management.

The collection storage and retention of information in a systematic manner.

Liaison with P&I clubs, law firms, fee earners and clients.

Work in close collaboration with the firm’s Chartering, Analytics, Claims, Accounting and Operations department under the supervision of the company’s Head of Analytics and Performance.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

University degree in Law (LLB). A postgraduate degree (LLM) with specialisation in Maritime Law or any other related field will be considered an advantage.

A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a similar in-house role or experience in a private practice law firm with specialisation in shipping and corporate law.
