On behalf of our client, a long-standing specialist insurance management firm operating across international markets , GRS Recruitment are seeking a Management Accountant based in Malta. The ideal candidate will be reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a key hire within a small, close-knit finance function, with a clear path toward building and leading your own team. Our client operates a unique cross-border structure and manages a portfolio of large, high-volume clients across several insurance lines. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the financial framework function, including preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (income statements, balance sheets) in line with regulatory and accounting standards
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support operational and growth requirements
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including financial reporting, taxation, and licensing; coordinate with external auditors
- Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity
- Maintain accounting records on internal systems, process payments, and perform monthly bank reconciliations across all operating accounts
- Manage debtor follow-ups and creditor invoice inputting and reconciliations
- Liaise with banks, internal departments, and clients on finance-related matters
- Prepare and present financial reports to board directors and attend board meetings as required
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- ACCA / warranted qualified or later stages of qualification
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a management accounting or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and IFRS reporting
- Experience in financial services or professional services is advantageous; insurance sector experience is a plus but not essential
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple deadlines
- Fluent in written and spoken English
