As a Manufacturing Support Engineer, you will be leading engineering activities and support day to day operations in the manufacturing area/s
MAIN DUITES AND RESPONSIBITLIES
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and Manufacturing excellence/ 6Sigma projects
- Improve process yields and machine uptime
- Ensure product quality is kept to the required standard through effective engineering activities
- Enhance shop floor organisation through 5S methodology
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and participate in Lean and 6Sigma activities
- Ensure that Process Instructions, Control Plans, FMEA’s and other quality documentation are updated as required
- Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure customer requirements are met
- Stop any shipment from being sent to customer that is suspected to contain non-conforming product
- Conduct training of operatives where required
- Process engineering related input for RFQ’s and capacity planning in a timely manner
- Maintain and update tool inventory where required
- Raise required documentation to order new tools
- Optimise tool design to improve productivity and yield
- Lead qualification and introduction of new processes and machines in manufacturing area
- Address engineering related concerns raised through the anomaly system
- Ensure all Environment, Health and Safety instructions are implemented
- Ensure safety performance is adequately communicated
- Participate in risk reduction plans
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Graduate in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Proactive, practical and hands on approach
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Be able to work in a team and maintain relationships both internal and external
- Be able to work on own initiative
