GRS Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading international organisation in the Oil & Gas and energy storage sector to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join its Technical team in Vasiliko, Cyprus.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established international organisation operating one of the largest energy storage and distribution terminals in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Mechanical Engineer will support the Projects and Technical teams with the planning, coordination and execution of mechanical projects, modifications, inspections and maintenance-related activities. The role combines engineering, project coordination and hands-on site activities, working closely with contractors, suppliers, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure projects and mechanical works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the planning, coordination and execution of capital projects and mechanical modifications in accordance with company procedures and industry best practices.

Review engineering designs, technical specifications, drawings and project documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.

Monitor and supervise fabrication, construction, installation, testing, commissioning and project close-out activities.

Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to verify compliance with approved designs, technical specifications and company procedures.

Assist with project scheduling, resource planning, progress monitoring and issue resolution.

Coordinate effectively with contractors, suppliers, consultants and internal stakeholders throughout all project phases.

Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, records, reports, databases and technical files.

Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning and performance verification activities.

Contribute to technical evaluations, constructability reviews, engineering studies and project risk assessments.

Review and prepare project-related documentation, including work permits, method statements, risk assessments, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and checklists.

Ensure contractors comply with HSE requirements, project specifications and quality standards.

Participate in HAZID/HAZOP, Management of Change (MoC) processes, toolbox talks, safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support the investigation and reporting of incidents, near misses, non-conformities and quality observations.

Assist in coordinating project resources, including lifting equipment, scaffolding, specialist contractors and temporary facilities.

Support the inspection and approval process for contractor equipment used within the facility.

Ensure compliance with local legislation, international standards, corporate requirements and engineering best practices.

Participate in the company's 24/7 on-call organisation when required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Registration with the Scientific Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK).
-
2–3 years of relevant experience in engineering, maintenance or project execution.

Previous experience within a technical, industrial, engineering, maintenance or project environment.
-
Experience within the Oil & Gas, energy, shipping, manufacturing or another industrial environment would be advantageous.
-
Experience in project management and inspection processes would be considered an advantage.

Familiarity with standards such as ASME, API and EEMUA would be advantageous.

Knowledge of piping systems, welding, leak testing and coating would be considered an advantage.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

€30,000 – €33,600 Gross Per Annum

Performance-related bonus of 12% of annual salary, based on performance.
