A specialist Fiduciary Services company is looking for a qualified and experienced MLRO Officer to join their team in Malta. The successful applicant will report to the Head of Compliance, Europe and undertake the Compliance/MLRO role across four regulated entities in Malta. The perfect candidate will have experience of working in EU Financial Services Industry in Malta, UK, Ireland or Luxembourg. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Undertake a MLRO Officer role across various licenses held which include corporate services, fund services, trustee services and custody.
  • Ensure that client due diligence is collected to the appropriate standard in order to comply with the regulatory and legal requirements in Malta.
  • Undertake compliance monitoring in accordance with the compliance monitoring plan to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and AML/CFT requirements.
  • Prepare and submit all relevant regulatory reporting to the MFSA AND FIAU as required.
  • Monitor the MFSA and FIAU website for the release of revised standards and guidance. Ensuring those updates are brought to the attention of the Boards and all relevant employees.
  • Assist with the preparation and update of internal policies and procedures ensuring compliance with local regulatory standards.
  • Provide support and training to staff as required in respect of compliance and AML matters.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • Previously held the role of MLRO Officer of a European regulated entity.
  • Qualifications – AML Certifications, Lawyer, Accountant.
  • Proven experience of managing a team of people.
  • Worked in trust industry is an asset
