A leading investment bank is looking for an Operations Analyst to join their team in Malta. The role requires the interpretation of data and analysis of results using statistical and analytical techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Data Analyst and be confident using reporting packages/databases (SQL, Excel, etc). MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret data and analyse results using statistical and analytical techniques

Acquire data from primary and secondary data sources

Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

Build and publish effective business and regulatory reports

Optimize data efficiency and quality

Perform detailed data analyses (i.e., determine the structure, content, and quality of data through examination of source systems and data samples)

Query database and manipulate data using SQL, Excel or equivalent.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
-
Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or equivalent
-
Working knowledge of reporting/analytical platforms
-
Passionate about data visualization
-
Advanced Excel Knowledge (Pivots, Macros, Formulas etc)

Analytical skills with good attention to detail

Knowledge of relational/non-relational Databases and Data warehouse concepts and technologies

Experience in SQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent scripting languages
-
Knowledge in data modelling will be considered and asset

Programming knowledge (ETL Frameworks, JS or XML)
-
Ability to be part of a team but a string self-starter and motivator
-
Good written and oral communications skills in English

Knowledge of payments industry will be considered an asset.
