Our respected client, a prominent Telecommunications company based in Malta, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Lawyer to join their team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Draft, review and negotiate agreements, NDAs, and other legal documents to ensure the Company’s full legal rights are maintained.
  • Research, evaluate and provide preliminary advice on different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
  • Manage and update the contract database of the company as necessary.
  • Manage the document execution process via e-signature tools.
  • Support the legal counsel with basic AML/KYC checks where necessary.
  • Draft and coordinate internal policies and procedures.
  • Update and maintain standard internal contract templates (e.g Terms of Use).
  • Assist the DPO with providing training and educating staff members on data protection regulations and compliance.
  • Assist the DPO with the data management monitoring procedures and legal compliance within the Company.
  • Identify and monitor legal issues and analyse and proactively advise on possible solutions.
  • Any other ad hoc duties that may be required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
 
Education, Qualifications, and/or Experience:
  • In possession of a law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Warranted lawyer with a valid license to practice law.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a law firm or as an in-house counsel.
  • Strong understanding of drafting of commercial contracts and knowledge of commercial law, preferably in telecommunications, e-commerce, information technology, software, or technology-related industries.
  • Expertise in data protection and legal compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • A strong understanding of Maltese and European laws.
  • A strong team player and leader with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • An effective communicator with fluency in English.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and tasks and drive them to successful completion.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Good people skills and ability to work in a team environment.
