MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES
- Receive and review purchase requests from various departments, ensuring each request complies with established company procedures and documentation requirements.
- Prepare and manage documentation required for the processing of material requests effectively.
- Coordinate with shipping partners to ensure efficient bookings of shipments and manage port charges for incoming materials.
- Communicate proactively with requestors within the company, providing estimated times of arrival for ordered materials and addressing any issues that arise during the procurement process.
- Partner with haulers and transportation companies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Work closely with Stores personnel to guarantee that storage facilities are optimally available and meet the needs of the organization.
- Manage and oversee logistics operations to minimize delays in the delivery of materials.
- Maintain meticulous records of all procurement activities, including details of orders and shipments.
- Ensure strict adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards of the organization.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or logistics within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Organised, with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of relevant software and systems used in procurement and logistics.
