GRS Recruitment are working in partnership with a growing firm based in Nicosia who are searching for an experienced and motivated Project Engineer to act as the on-site guardian of our clients' renewable energy projects. In this role, you will represent the Owner throughout the full project lifecycle from design and planning through construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with EPC contractors, consultants, and internal teams, playing a critical role in turning clean-energy designs into reliable, high-performance assets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Represent the Owner on site, ensuring EPC contractor performance aligns with contractual, technical, safety, and quality requirements.

Monitor project progress, identify risks early, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.

Coordinate with all project stakeholders to ensure milestones, quality targets, and timelines are met.

Supervise site activities, subcontractors, and labor to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project schedules.

Oversee daily productivity and ensure installation quality meets design and industry standards.

Plan and manage site resources, including manpower, tools, and equipment.

Prepare clear and structured daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Manage EPC contract execution, documentation, and site records.

Maintain well-organized project files and technical documentation.

Supervise site acceptance tests and inspections alongside consultants.

Act as the primary on-site communication point between the Owner, EPC contractor, consultants, and suppliers.

Support technical and financial project management activities, including procurement coordination and performance analysis.

Conduct technical site assessments and inspections as required.

Ensure all projects comply with applicable quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering and site execution processes.

Assist in the preparation and review of technical documentation and reports.
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 3 years of experience in renewable energy engineering, with a strong focus on solar PV projects.

Hands-on experience in solar system design and on-site installation, including system sizing, layout, and positioning.

Experience working with solar equipment suppliers and understanding procurement and costing.

Knowledge of licensing and permitting processes.

Strong understanding of grid integration challenges and system performance considerations.

Proven ability to manage projects from concept through commissioning.

Strong attention to detail, particularly in quality control and inspections.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and site resources effectively.

Highly adaptable, with the ability to perform in dynamic site environments.

Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on mindset.

Fluent in Greek and professionally proficient in English
