MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES 
  • Monitor and analyse developments and trends in both global and local financial markets, across both bond and equity markets
  • Implement credit research analysis on corporate debt, and where relevant on sovereign debt; using all information available
  • Implement financial analysis on companies and shares, using all information available
  • Identify, select and recommend fixed income investment opportunities based on market research and fundamental analysis, whilst guided by the relevant investment strategy
  • Identify, select and recommend equity investment opportunities based on market research and fundamental analysis, whilst guided by the relevant investment strategy
  • Prepare research reports for both internal use and for distribution to clients, detailing relevant insight on the financial profile, ratios, credit metrics, risks
  • Prepare research reports for both internal use and for distribution to clients, detailing insight on the performance and outlook for relevant corporates, ratios, risks, considerations related to valuations
  • Implement trade recommendations for discretionary clients and ensure that discretionary portfolios are aligned to the tactical asset allocation and respects any parameters for the investment mandate
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to discretionary clients
  • Attend investor calls and financial intermediary meetings, and where relevant interact with management of issuers
  • Maintain and develop relevant financial data and ratios, using spreadsheets and financial models; and adopting relevant valuation methodologies including in particular the DCF valuation and multiples
  • Contribute to asset allocation discussions and decisions, by preparing relevant material on the markets, performance of asset classes, expected returns and risks
  • Implement trades for discretionary clients
  • Assist in the daily valuation of local bonds and equities and act as backup trader on the MSE, when required
  • Write research and investment related content to be published on the Company’s website, social media and newspapers
  • Substitute for the other Research Analysts and assist in Capital Markets transactions and Financial Analysis Summary, when necessary
  • Contribute towards the firm’s ESG policy and ensuring that any investment recommendations respect the ESG and other investment policies of the Company
  • Mentor and guide junior research analysts and assist the team generally to achieve its objectives, including by performing any routine tasks where deemed necessary
CANDIDATE PROFILE 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • A Masters’s degree and/or a Chartered Financial Analyst qualification is desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a research or portfolio management role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Bloomberg
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficient in financial modelling and analysis tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently
